Words of Encouragement
Friday, June 18
Good morning. Patience is not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting. The following texts in the Passion Translation describe the importance of adding wisdom, kindness, tender humility to our quiet patience in order to deal with the various challenges of the day. Proverbs 19:11 says "A wise person demonstrates patience, for mercy means holding (our) tongue. When (we) are insulted, be quick to forgive and forget it, for (we) are virtuous when (we) overlook an offense." This may be difficult, but we are up to the challenge. Proverbs 25:15 says, "Use patience and kindness when (we) want to persuade leaders and watch them change their minds right in front of (us). For (our) gentle wisdom will quell the strongest resistance." We love this mixture of patience and kindness and appreciate the benefits. Ephesians 4:2 says, "With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous love toward one another, especially toward those who may try your patience." Wow! Patience is a potent and important virtue that produces awesome results. Selah!
Have a great day.
