Evangelist Katherine Jackson is Assistant to the Senior Pastor, serving as dean and instructor of the School of Ministry, filling in as worship leader and/or preacher, attending meetings with/for the pastor as requested, and supervising office volunteers. As assistant pastor for evangelism, she counsels and teaches new converts, and is a prayer intercessor, visiting hospitals, nursing homes and jails when requested by families. As a member of the church executive board, she assists in planning events and projects, suggests procedural changes that will enhance the ministry, helps to develop new ideas and special projects. Additionally, she coordinates with church committees, officers, and leaders to help carry out the ministry and mission of the church.

Evangelist Jackson received an associate degree in liberal arts from Piedmont Virginia Community College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology with a minor in African American History from the University of Virginia. While completing a research project in 2000, the Holy Spirit told her “ do the job I ordained you to do.” In 2004, she was ordained in Maryland, under Bishop John Thompson, and in 2008, at Union Run under Dr. White.

After 34 years of service, she retired from the University of Virginia as a public relations specialist. The University recognized her with an Outstanding Contribution Award in 1991, given to only 30 of more than 10,000 employees, and in 2003, she received the Outstanding Employee Award in public relations, earning $1,000 cash.
